With Alexa Weather Alerts, you can stay up-to-date on the latest severe weather warnings for your area, so you can plan accordingly.

Alexa Weather Skill

When you purchase any Echo device, the Alexa Weather Skill is already enabled. Alexa uses AccuWeather for the most up-to-date weather information.

The skill uses the device location in the Alexa App Settings. To ensure your devices are pulling accurate information, make sure your location is up-to-date. To check your location:

Open Amazon Alexa App> Tap More> Tap Settings> Tap Your Locations> Enter Your Address

How to ask Alexa for the Weather

When you want to know the forecast, you can simply ask: "Alexa, what's the weather?" However, there are also several other questions to ask, if you need more information. Here are a few weather-related commands to ask your Alexa device."Alexa, what's the weather for this weekend?"

• "Alexa, what's the weather for the week?"

• "Alexa, what are the chances for rain?"

• "What's the weather in Orlando, Florida?" (if you need to know the weather somewhere else)

How to Enable Severe Weather Alert

Although you can get a weather report by asking Alexa, sometimes Mother Nature can sneak upon you. If you would like Alexa to alert you when severe weather is looming, then set up a severe weather alert.

To set up an Alexa Weather Alert open your Alexa App and then:

1. Tap Settings

2. Tap Notifications

3. Tap Weather

4. Tap Severe Weather Alert

Now you have the option of how you would like to be notified. Your options are:

1. Repeat - when this is enabled, you will be notified every time there is severe weather.

2. Send Phone Push Notification - When this is enabled, you will get an alert on your phone (if you have the Alexa App)

3. Delivery - You can have Alexa Announce Out loud if the climate is questionable or have a notification on every device you own.

Now your family will be a little safer, because when the elements in your area are bad, you'll get a notification.

If you want to turn off your alerts, then disable all the alerts you just created.

Morning Weather Routine

As a parent, then you know when the kids get up in the morning to get dressed for school, they never pay attention to the weather. Since my kids use their voice assistants as their alarm, I have created a routine, so they get a weather report every morning.

• Here is how to set up that simple routine:

• First you must open your Alexa App and open up Routines.

• Name the Routine Morning Weather Report.

• Next, Elect when an alarm is dismissed as the action.

• Then Tap Add Action, select Weather and select weather again.

• Tap Next and Select from the Device you speak to.

Now in the morning, when you or your children dismiss their alarm, the Alexa devices will promptly report the weather to that specific device.
